DP3 Architects, a Greenville-based architecture firm, has been selected for the multimillion dollar renovation of Greenville City Hall.
The city of Greenville issued a request for proposals in early September to find a design firm to complete the project’s architectural and engineering services. Twelve firms submitted proposals by the Sept. 30 deadline.
DP3 Architects previously worked with the city of Greenville on its new Public Works Campus, David Hellams Community Center renovation and Parking Services facility renovation. The local architecture firm also designed the new Simpsonville Municipal Complex and the Travelers Rest City Hall and Police Headquarters.
“We look forward to seeing the innovative ideas and designs they will develop, ensuring that our City Hall will be a landmark we can all be proud of,” said Greenville City Manager Shannon Lavrin. “This project marks a significant milestone for our city, and we are eager to embark on this journey with a talented, visionary, local group.”

Extensive interior and exterior renovations are envisioned to help revamp Greenville City Hall, located at 206 S. Main St. The first six floors of the building will be renovated to create modern office space for city departments. Floors seven through 10 will be remodeled to an interior shell for potential future upfit. A new glass facade will also be added to the building, along with a new rear addition to house the Greenville City Council chambers.
According to the city, the plans and renderings created by DP3 Architects for City Hall are expected to be presented to the Design Review Board as early as next spring. Construction is planned to begin in early 2027.
