Mission Statement
Impact
For more than a century, United Way has served the people of Greenville County by bringing together donors, partners and volunteers to meet our community’s most pressing needs. Today, through strategic investments in education, housing, employment and families, United Way creates stability for thousands of our neighbors each year.
Thanks to the generosity of our community, last year United Way:
- Invested more than $3 million in local partners to ensure more families have access to affordable housing, more students are receiving the educational support they need to succeed, and more people are connected to reliable transportation and child care options that enable them to work and provide for their families.
- Made more than 27,916 connections through United Way 211 to help individuals receive assistance with housing, utilities, food, disaster relief and more.
- Returned $11,695,878 in tax refunds to families through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
- Helped 1,987 individuals gain employment.
- Provided 504 rides through Ride United to individuals in need of transportation to jobs and other critical services.
- Collaborated with community stakeholders, including service providers, business leaders, local government, the faith community and others to move 154 people into permanent housing through Greenville Together.
