Mission Statement
Since 1991, the Barbara Stone Foundation has championed opportunity for individuals with disabilities. We work to influence community systems, build equitable pathways and collaborate with partners who share this vision. Through strategic fundraising, we create, support and connect individuals to innovative programs providing direct services while advancing solutions that empower people, foster independence and strengthen a more inclusive community.
Impact
For 35 years, the Barbara Stone Foundation has worked to expand opportunity and strengthen our community. We create and deliver initiatives like Greenville CAN, the UP Employment Initiative, Access GVL, CAN Talks, Road to Possibilities and our Community Innovations Grants — connecting individuals with disabilities to employment, resources and meaningful engagement. Through these efforts, we’ve connected thousands to opportunities that foster independence and inclusion. Our impact is both personal and systemic — empowering individuals and advancing a more inclusive, accessible Greenville for all.
