Mission Statement
Habitat for Humanity brings families, community partners and volunteers together to build homes, communities and hope. We advocate for affordable homeownership because it is proven to help families build stability, strength and self-reliance. We provide an affordable path to buying a first home, with guidance and support at every stage. To be considered for the program, prospective homeowners must demonstrate a need for housing, the ability to pay an affordable mortgage and a willingness to partner with Habitat throughout the process. We also provide home preservation, inclusive of weatherization and critical repairs that allow people to affordably and safely stay in homes they already own.
Impact
In our 40-year history, we’ve built more than 435 homes in Greenville County and served more than 1,200 families through all programs. More than 1,725 volunteers contributed nearly 15,000 volunteer hours in 2025.
Leadership

Fundraisers and Events
In honor of our founder, Joe Barron, we host a golf tournament fundraiser each spring. And each of our theme builds — like the annual CEO Build, Women Build and Credit Union Build — requires financial support to make construction possible.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. We offer build-site opportunities for individuals ages 16 and above, schools, young professionals, and corporate groups and organizations throughout the year. No construction experience is needed; skilled supervision is provided. Volunteer days for new construction projects are available Wednesday through Saturday.
Giving Opportunities
As housing costs continue to rise, many hardworking families are being priced out of our community. Your donations help create opportunities for neighbors to build brighter, more secure futures — because everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to live. Your gift helps them remain rooted in the place they call home.
