North Greenville University recently announced that it will extend its modified operations through May 3, continuing online instruction through the end of spring semester while canceling all public events including May commencement.
“We realize that these actions are deeply disappointing to students and their families, particularly those who are about to graduate and were looking forward to a final semester on campus,” said North Greenville University president Gene C. Fant Jr. “We share your belief that this is incredibly difficult. I personally hate it so much.”
In addition to all remaining spring semester events being canceled, the university’s Tigerville and Greer campuses will remain closed to the public.
May graduates will be allowed to participate in a special graduation ceremony during NGU’s 2020 homecoming, the fall 2020 commencement service, or the spring 2021 commencement service. In addition, housing and related university services, including dining, will continue to be provided on a limited basis if possible.
The university currently has no confirmed cases of COVID-19 or reports of anyone on campus being exposed to a confirmed case of the virus. For more information, visit www.ngu.edu/covid-19.
