Last year, the Rick Erwin Dining Group launched its charitable initiative, Crab Cakes for a Cause.
The group operates seven eateries: Rick Erwin’s West End Grille, Rick Erwin’s Greer, Rick Erwin’s Eastside, Rick Erwin’s Level 10, The Vista, Rick Erwin’s Clemson and Rick Erwin’s Nantuck Seafood.
Through the initiative, the restaurant group contributes a portion of each restaurant’s crab cake sales toward local nonprofit organizations.
The charity began with a donation to Meals on Wheels in May 2023.
This year, the business continued the initiative by donating $30,000 toward The Meyer Center for Special Children and Meals on Wheels, with $15,000 going to each organization.
The company presented checks for the donations to Clarence Edwards, a board member from The Meyer Center and Catriona Carlisle, executive director for Meals on Wheels, at the dining group’s annual awards ceremony on Feb. 18.

“Both of these organizations mean so much to us and do so many great things in our community,” said Daniel Lovelace, chief marketing officer and director of hospitality for the restaurant group. “We couldn’t be more proud to join arms with them and both of their respective efforts as they continue to impact our community in such a meaningful way.”
