Lanier Roofing & Restoration and Habitat for Humanity recently joined forces with the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project to install a free new roof for Greenville resident Elizabeth Johnson, the widow of U.S. Army veteran Robert Johnson.
Johnson was selected after she experienced a leak in her bedroom ceiling.
“Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County identified Ms. Johnson as needing a new roof, and we were lucky to be in a position to donate the labor, with Owens Corning donating the materials,” said Lanier Roofing & Restoration owner Jerry Lanier. “2020 has just been nuts, and to be able to have a successful year where we feel like we’re in a position to give back makes us feel great.”
The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is a nationwide effort to show gratitude and honor United States military veterans and their families. Since the inception of this program in 2016, more than 225 military members have received new roofs.
