Pre-Party at Universal Joint
Universal Joint (300 Stone Ave.) is hosting a New Year’s Eve pre-party on Saturday from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. with happy hour prices all day. Specials include $1.50 off draft beers, $3 glasses and $10 bottles of house chardonnay and cabernets, $3.50 well liquor (+$0.50 for juice mixers, doesn’t include house margaritas or martinis), $5 chicken nachos and $3 champagne and mimosas. UJ closes at 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, but they’ll be open New Year’s Day, with $5 bloody marys, $3 champagne and mimosas and $6 universal fries.
Vine New Year’s Eve Celebration
Ink n Ivy’s nightclub, Vine (21 E. Coffee St.), is hosting a New Year’s Eve bash from 8 p.m.–3 a.m. There will be a live DJ and a countdown to midnight with a complimentary champagne toast. General admission is $50, and day of admission is $60. Purchase tickets here.
Two Levels, Two Parties, One Night
Aloft Hotel (5 N. Laurens St.) is hosting two parties on New Year’s Eve, and the VIP Diamond Party is already sold out. But not to worry: The WXYZ Pearls Party still has tickets available. The party is from 9 p.m.–2 a.m. with live DJs, champagne toast, party favors and a photo booth. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here.
New Year’s Eve Southern Gala
Hilton Greenville (45 W. Orchard Park Drive) is hosting a black-tie optional Southern Gala event from 9 p.m.–1 a.m. VIP tickets are sold out, but general admission tickets are still available for $90, which can be purchased here. General admission includes complimentary parking, a red carpet reception, hors d’oeuvres, three full open bars, a dance party, a Clemson room screening the Fiesta Bowl game, party favors, a photo booth and a midnight champagne toast. This event is benefiting the National Alliance of Mental Illness Greenville and Tell Every Amazing Lady about Ovarian Cancer.
Celebrate New Year’s Eve w/ Alchemy Comedy
Say goodbye to 2016 with a laugh. Alchemy Comedy Theater (1 E. Coffee St.) is hosting a night of three separate shows. The family-friendly “Improv All-Stars” show featuring the comedic talents of veteran Alchemy improvisers with audience input is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Next at 9 p.m. is the “G-Vegas NYE Live Comedy Game Show,” a typical quiz show with Greenville comedians as participants. The final show of the night, “Alchemy NYE Show and Countdown,” begins at 10:30 p.m. and features fast-paced improv games and improv sketches inspired by 2016. New Year’s Eve at BFS
Birds Fly South Ale Project (1320 Hampton Ave.) is hosting a New Year’s Eve celebration from 6–10 p.m. For $28, guests will have a three-course Italian meal catered by Robino’s food truck — plus one free beer. The meal includes a bruschetta bar, salads, choice of entree, choice of four sides and dessert. There will be live music from Asheville-based jazz/rock/bluegrass band Circus Mutt. New Year’s Revelution
Revel Event Center (304 E. Stone Ave.) is ringing in 2017 with a Revelution event from 9 p.m. (8 p.m. for VIPs)–1 a.m. There are three ticket options: $75 for general admission, $100 for VIPs and $1,500 for a Platinum VIP Lounge Package for 15 people. A general admission ticket is good for free parking, a welcome cocktail, two drink wristbands for the Whiskey Room or Main Ballroom, h’ors d’oeuvres and a champagne toast. Craft & Barrel’s First New Year’s Eve Bash
Craft & Barrel gastro pub (23 Rushmore Drive) is hosting a New Year’s Eve bash from 7 p.m.–2 a.m. The Clemson football game will be showcased on all TVs (with sound), and there will be a tailgate buffet from 7–8:30 p.m. for $12. There will be halftime entertainment from DJ Holla, and after the game is over, ring in 2017 with more music, a midnight complimentary champagne toast and party favors. Tickets are $15 for reserved seating and $10 for general admission.

Making Space: Yin & Meditation
Greenville Yoga (10 W. Stone Ave.) is hosting a New Year’s Day afternoon Yin & Meditation class from 2–4 p.m. Let go of the old from 2016, and greet 2017 with renewed focus and mindfulness. The class costs $20.
Start 2017 with a jump into Lake Placid at Paris Mountain State Park (2401 State Park Road) on New Year’s Day. The event begins at 1:17 p.m. sharp and ends at 2:17 p.m. Bring towels, warm clothes, a thermos with a hot beverage and, of course, a camera to capture the jump. Coffee and donuts will be available.
