The city of Greenville announced Unity Park’s playground will close Dec. 8 for two to three weeks for repairs.
Flooding during Hurricane Helene in 2024 damaged the playground’s turf system, shifting the base materials beneath the playground. The existing synthetic turf will be removed to repair the underlying materials and improve attachment points along the perimeter of the playground.
Repair materials for the playground will be stored on the Meadow Lot 2 parking area at Unity Park. The parking lot will be closed beginning Dec. 4.
According to the city, the playground repairs will take two to three weeks to complete.
