Project Host announced Nov. 11 it has partnered with Meals on Wheels of Greenville and Fluor for its Cooking for Kids program.
Through the program, Project Host works with after school programs in five area sites to supply hot dinners to 130 children living in food-insecure households in the Greenville area through the school week.
“Our partnership with Meals on Wheels has allowed us to offer delivered meals to these sites, alleviating the need for the sites to coordinate transportation and better utilize their resources,” said Project Host programs director Michelle Liggett.
While Meals on Wheels is providing food delivery, Fluor has committed to funding the program for a year, which will ensure that 10,400 meals have been delivered to Greenville area kids by the end of 2021.
