Northwestern Mutual – Upstate SC and Furman Paladin senior linebacker Evan DiMaggio have teamed up to participate in the national Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Cancer Champion Competition.
As part of the competition, student athletes from Football Championship Subdivision schools will team up with their local Northwestern Mutual offices to help drive donations to accelerate the search for better treatments and cures for childhood cancer.

Each player is raising funds in various ways including rallying friends and family, reaching out to teammates and alumni networks, and leveraging social media to promote Northwestern Mutual’s #LemonTopChallenge. For every challenge completed, Northwestern Mutual will donate $10, up to $100,000, to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
“Evan and the other football players are making an incredible impact on and off the field. It has been inspiring to watch communities, businesses and universities rally behind these athletes’ efforts and come together for such a meaningful cause,” said John Tripoli, managing director for Northwestern Mutual’s Upstate South Carolina offices.
