Meals on Wheels of Greenville has launched its Giving Tuesday holiday donation drive ahead of Giving Tuesday, which is on Dec. 1.
During the donation drive, the nonprofit is asking the public to make monetary contributions, which will provide holiday meals and a gift bag with items including a mask, PPE kit, lap blanket, deck of cards, book and holiday card to a homebound client.
“In the past, we’ve asked our generous donors and dedicated supporters to supply gifts by bringing them to our office,” said Catriona Carlisle, executive director of Meals on Wheels of Greenville. “Doing this in the midst of COVID-19 presents a health risk to our clients, and as a result, each client will receive the same gift, prepared in a reusable bag. To fund these gifts, we need the community’s help. Their support means we can share more warm wishes and warm meals to our neighbors who need them more than ever.”
Meals on Wheels of Greenville has set a fundraising goal of $37,000.
