APPROVED: Inmate labor agreement
City Council approved an agreement to resume inmate labor to assist with Public Works operations including sanitation, and parks and grounds.
“During COVID, we couldn’t use inmate labor,” said Councilmember Carol King. “This is an agreement for the city to engage with the inmates again. We would be able to engage them, but not have to use it.”
The city is discussing whether or not they will use inmate labor or continue to use temporary staff.
