July’s pet of the month is Fletcher.
Fletcher is not native to the Upstate. In fact, he’s not native to South Carolina. Fletcher was brought here from a crowded shelter in Arizona where he was born. He’s had a rough start. He has lived in a shelter his whole life. He has one kidney and may not have the same lifespan as his friends at the humane society and yet, he still gives as much love as his body can muster. He still enjoys playing with other dogs and actively seeks out affection from humans by leaning in for a scratch.
We should all strive to be a little more like this 11-month-old Australian/flat-coated retriever mix. Perhaps the first step is giving him a little comfort and a loving home.
Those interested in adopting Fletcher should stop by the Greenville Humane Society at 305 Airport Road in Greenville. For more information, call 864-242-3626 or visit greenvillehumane.com.
