Fritzi Barbour, 56, died on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, on Oct. 20, 1963, Barbour, of Simpsonville, grew up in Wiesbaden, Germany, where her father worked after retiring from the military. Her family moved back to the U.S. after the death of her father. They relocated to Hampton, Virginia, where Barbour began her real estate career.
Barbour married her Air Force pilot husband, Steven, in 1998. After spending time on assignment in Germany, they moved back to the U.S. and settled in Simpsonville after Steven’s completion of military duty in 1999.
Professionally, Barbour served as broker in charge at Coldwell Banker Caine from 2000-2013 and as broker in charge at C. Dan Joyner Berkshire Hathaway from 2013-2020, with her most recent position being senior vice president of sales. In 2018, Barbour was named South Carolina Realtor of the Year.
Besides her involvement in professional organizations, such as serving as president of the Greater Greenville Association of Realtors and president of the South Carolina Realtors, Barbour was also very active in the community. She was a 2019 co-chair for the Chop! Cancer event to benefit the Cancer Survivors Park, a Palmetto Society member of the United Way of Greenville, past advisory board member of the Patewood Campus of the Greenville Health System, sustaining member of the Junior League of Greenville and a master gardener. She was active with the South Carolina Ovarian Cancer Foundation and a member of First Baptist Church Mauldin.
Barbour is survived by her husband.
