After a two-year hiatus, iMAGINE Upstate Steam Festival fueled by Fluor is back, with plenty of exhibits to round out its sixth year.
The festival will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 2, in downtown Greenville along Main Street from Court Street to Augusta Street and will feature interactive exhibits and demonstrations. The exhibits will focus on science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) for students pre-K through 12th grade, and 50 exhibitors are lined up for this year’s event.
“This free-admission festival provides a unique opportunity to ignite the interests of pre-K through 12th grade,” Greenville City Councilman Wil Brasington said.
Fluor will be the presenting sponsor again, and the company will provide volunteers to help transform part of Main Street for the festival. Brasington said the partnership has helped iMAGINE Upstate evolve into one of the biggest STEAM festivals in South Carolina.
“iMAGINE Upstate has created a unique outdoor festival that engages the community in STEAM education through hands-on learning and interactive performances and demonstrations,” city of Greenville Parks, Recreation and Tourism director Angie Prosser said.
