Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the family-friendly event Boo in the Zoo will limit capacity through online reservations for date-specific, timed entries.
This year’s Boo in the Zoo will feature spooky decorations, 15 trick-or-treat stations and Halloween-themed areas, including a princess castle, Dragon Alley and an extinct species graveyard. Attendees are requested to bring reusable Halloween bags for trick-or-treating.
The zoo has also added hand sanitizing stations for guests and signage to outline social distancing practices. In addition, the zoo’s staff will be limiting gatherings at exits, exhibits, entrances and along pathways. All attendees over age two will also be required to wear face coverings.
Boo in the Zoo will take place Oct. 15-18, 22-25, 29-31 and Nov. 1 from 3 to 8 p.m. Admission is $9 for members and $12 for non-members trick-or-treating, and free for members and $10 for non-members not trick-or-treating. Children two and younger, who are not trick-or-treating, will be admitted for free. At this event, all children must be accompanied by an adult, and everyone is welcome to wear a costume.
