The 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Greenville was a remarkable success. There were 2,542 participants with 245 teams raising $350,702. This comprised 97% of the Alzheimer’s Association goal to raise $362,000. The Walk began at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 5 and took place at Fluor Field in the West End.
The Alzheimer’s Association lists several Greenville participants in their Champions, Grand Champions and Elite Grand Champions clubs. Champions Club members are the premier fundraisers for the Walk. To be a Champion one must raise $500 or more; Grand Champions must raise $1,000 or more and Elite Grand Champions must raise at least $2,500. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s website lists Paula McCallum as the top fundraiser for the 2019 Greenville Walk; she brought in $41,900 to help end Alzheimer’s.
