Scott Krawczyk, Gray Court resident and Army veteran from the war in Afghanistan, will receive a complete smile makeover Feb. 17 from the Carolinas Center for Oral, Facial, Cosmetic and Dental Implant Surgery’s Smiles For Soldiers program.
The 32-year-old was born without any adult teeth and has worn dentures since the fourth grade. After his procedure, he will have dental implant-supported dentures, which will look and function like natural teeth.
“I’ve never had a smile that I’ve been proud of,” Krawczyk said when announced as the recipient. “To have a permanent smile is just huge. I can’t even imagine that right now. Just being able to not have to worry about what I eat… just to have that security; that’s your smile.”
Krawcyk’s procedure is valued at more than $50,000, but will be done free of charge.
