When Managing Director Michael Herlong unlocks the front door of the AssuredPartners – Greenville location each day, he is always struck by the growth that has occurred within the last 18 months. Herlong is one of the founders of the former Herlong Bates Burnett Insurance, which just over a year ago joined the AssuredPartners team. He now manages a team of thirty insurance agents and has developed a reputation around AssuredPartners as a catalyst of growth within the Upstate area.
Founded in 2011, AssuredPartners is the fastest growing insurance brokerage in the US, already claiming over $1 billion in revenue. The Greenville location was selected to be the regional hub for the AssuredPartners Southern Atlantic Region – spanning 5 states and grossing upwards of $56 million in revenue. Prompted by continual growth, AssuredPartners finalized their plan to move this summer to One Liberty Square in downtown Greenville.
AssuredPartners focuses primarily on Property & Casualty insurance and Employee Benefit plans, but also has strong Personal Lines and Select Business units. The key to their success is partnering with top insurance brokerages, like Herlong Bates Burnett, and infusing them with additional innovation, services, transparency, and resources. AssuredPartners is committed to changing the face of the industry while continuing to provide an unrivaled level of expertise and service.
When asked why she joined AssuredPartners, Stephanie Lockwood, the regional chief financial officer, said, “AP was different – like a breath of fresh air. I found myself surrounded by people who were dedicated to their craft and achieving extraordinary things. We push boundaries and break tradition but have never compromised on the quality of the insurance and risk management solutions we provide.”
While providing the best insurance solutions is always the top priority, AssuredPartners – Greenville is also committed to community initiatives. Last year, they helped raise $54,000 for the Make-A-Wish foundation, with team members completing the Trailblaze Challenge – a 28.6 mile hike through the Foothills Trail. This effort helped grant the wishes of seven children in South Carolina and inspired Regional Leaders Jon Taylor and Jaime Tatara to become Make-A-Wish board members, furthering their efforts throughout the year.
When asked about the upcoming year, Herlong responded, “Our clients and employees have recognized a change in the air: a different, more personalized approach to doing business that reflects the community we are a part of. We are encouraged and can’t wait to see how we will continue to grow right here in South Carolina!”
