Black History Month pays tribute to the contributions of African Americans to our country, culture and community. This month gives us the moment to pause, share, celebrate and understand black heritage and culture.
Black History Month dates back to 1926 and has been recognized by every U.S. president since Gerald Ford in 1976. And yet, Black History Month in 2021 takes on new meaning following the events of 2020.
It is no longer a time of observance. It’s a time to act.
At SYNNEX Corporation, we believe our ability to succeed derives from a culture that embraces our differences and commonalties with dignity and respect.
We celebrate the diversity of our associates, customers and vendors. These differences enrich our performance and provide us competitive advantage in the global marketplace. That’s why we’re serious about appreciating everything that makes our associates unique by providing equal employment opportunities and fostering a corporate-wide culture that is inclusive and respectful.
But companies need to do more than simply reflect the diversity of the communities they serve. They must create opportunities — both within their industries and across their communities.
At SYNNEX, we established our Diversity Alliance Program as a community for our diversity partners, many of them small businesses, to help them succeed and thrive. Our newly established Manager of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion role will help us accelerate our journey, apply a diversity and inclusion lens to all of our policies and programs, and advance our associates’ understanding of these critical issues.
We are fearless in our unity. SYNNEX is dedicated to continuing to demonstrate our commitment to creating an equitable and welcoming environment where each can achieve and all can succeed. And we will do so while learning and working alongside each other every day, every month of the year.
Unity is what drives us forward, lies at the heart of our innovation and helps us be courageous and collaborative.
