The city of Simpsonville is seeking experienced artists to conceive, design and create two murals on South Main Street in its downtown area. The city will be accepting artist’s qualifications until June 30.
One mural will be located on a building in an alleyway, and the other will be on the opposite side of the same building.
“The city is looking for artists who can capture the small-town charm of Simpsonville in artwork that further elevates downtown as a destination for people to shop, eat and fellowship,” said community relations specialist Justin Campbell. “We want the public to interact with the murals, such as taking photos or selfies with them to share on social media.”
Applicants must be 18 or older, possess a strong portfolio of work and have previous mural experience. The winning artist will be chosen in July by a selection committee comprised of city officials, local artists and business owners, who will score the submissions.
