The Peace Center’s newest music venue in downtown Greenville is set to open in January 2026.
The Mockingbird represents the first new venue as part of the Peace Center’s multimillion-dollar campus expansion. Inspired by Nashville, Tennessee’s famed Bluebird Cafe, the 180-person listening room will offer an intimate setting to bring artists and audiences closer together. It will be located in the historic Gullick and Markley buildings on South Main Street.
“The Peace Center is proud to open The Mockingbird as a space that celebrates musical artistry and human connection,” said Peace Center CEO Megan Riegel. “It’s a place where the song takes center stage, and audiences can experience live music the way it’s meant to be heard — up close and personal.”
The Peace Center will present Song Sessions, a yearlong music series curated by Nashville singer-songwriter Maia Sharp, to launch The Mockingbird. Each month, Sharp will be joined by special guest artists to perform at the new venue.
“There’s something powerful about a small room built for listening,” Sharp said. “It lets the emotion, the stories and the songs breathe. The Mockingbird will be that kind of place, and I can’t wait to share these weekends with the people of Greenville and the entire region.”

Song Sessions will begin on Jan. 17, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. The guest artists for opening night will include acclaimed songwriter and singer Georgia Middleman and Gary Burr, a Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee.
Song Sessions will be held over one weekend each month through December 2026. Each weekend will feature live performances on Friday and Saturday evenings, plus a workshop for aspiring musicians on Saturday afternoons. The performances and workshops will be ticketed events.
The upcoming scheduled performances of Song Sessions include:
- Feb. 20-21, 2026, 7:30 p.m.: Maia Sharp, with singer-songwriter David Ryan Harris and Adam Wright, a Grammy-nominated Nashville songwriter
- March 20-21, 2026, 7:30 p.m.: Maia Sharp with singer-songwriters Emma-Lee Cypert and Tera Lynne Fister
Tickets for Song Sessions go on sale Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. at peacecenter.org/about-us/song-sessions.
