Compass of Carolina, an organization that provides counseling and domestic violence intervention, will host a free virtual concert featuring The Jamie Wright Band entitled “Chords of Compassion: Concert for a Cause presented by Wells Fargo” at 7 p.m. on Oct. 26.
Attendees of the virtual performance may also opt to purchase a dinner package with or without wine provided by Table 301 for $100-$129 to enjoy during the show as well as luminaries to display outside their homes or places of business during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
“During the pandemic, domestic violence has risen dramatically,” said Kimberly Ward, executive director of Compass of Carolina. “Victims and their families do not need to suffer in silence. That’s why we are here — to help break the cycle of unhealthy behaviors to lead to healing and hope for a brighter future. Our Chords of Compassion event is one of the most significant ways that people can get involved and show their support.”
Attendees are requested to register for the virtual concert as well as purchase their dinner package on Eventbrite.
In addition, Compass of Carolina’s luminary fundraising campaign, “Light in the Darkness,” is ongoing until Oct. 26 with luminaries available for purchase at Mast General Store at 111 N. Main St. in Greenville. They will also be available at The Shops at Greenridge on Woodruff Road in Greenville on Oct. 26. The luminaries are sold in bundles of 10 for $25, and all proceeds will go directly toward funding child therapy kits used in post-traumatic counseling services.
