After a hiatus, Centre Stage is returning with a robust spring event lineup featuring three virtual Prisma Health Fringe Series productions, all of which promise to be heartwarming, gut-wrenching and provocative dramas or comedies. This year’s roster includes:
“Apples in Winter” by Jennifer Fawcett
Streaming Feb. 25-28
A one-woman show that explores the true nature of motherhood and sacrifice as well as the impact of addiction.
“Eleemosynary” by Lee Blessing
Streaming April 22-25
After her grandmother suffers a stroke, Echo and her estranged mother must reconnect to take care of their eccentric aging grandmother/mother.
“Sharks and Other Lovers” by Randall David Cook
Streaming Aug. 26-29
The winner of Centre Stage’s 2019 New Play Festival, “Sharks and Other Lovers” takes place on Seabrook Island, South Carolina, a week or so after Labor Day and stars a bickering, long-married couple who find their intermittent squabbling interrupted by a cast of kooky characters.
Also returning is Thursdays on the Patio, an outdoor concert series featuring local artists and eateries. Tickets will include reserved, socially-distanced seating, plus food, one-two drinks depending on the ticket, and access to Centre Stage’s exclusive art gallery. Additional beverages are available for purchase from the concessions bar.
Tickets for all events can be purchased in person at the Centre Stage box office, by calling 864- 233-6733 or online at centrestage.org. Ticket availability will be announced by event.
