Books new and old have found a home in downtown Travelers Rest.
As the Page Turns, at 32 S. Main St. in the former McLeskey Todd Pharmacy, offers new and used paperback books, books by regional authors, popular fiction, young adult bestsellers and more.
The bookstore was previously located across town, in the shopping mall behind George Coleman Ford on U.S. 25.

While the space was large, visibility was lacking, said co-owner Amy Williams.
“So many people didn’t even know there was a bookstore in Travelers Rest,” Williams said. “We’re just really happy to be on Main Street. This was our dream location for years and years.”
The new 4,000-square-foot space is now brimming with books. Much of the floorspace is dedicated to fiction, but there’s a sizable section of sci-fi and horror, Christian and inspirational titles and classics as well as a small shelf of audiobooks. All new books are 20% off.
Williams said the store is currently working on a curated selection of nonfiction books.

“What sets us apart is our customer service,” she said. “We have several customers that don’t even shop. They call us and say, ‘Hey I’m ready for a stack,’ and we curate a stack for them. We know what they like; we know what they’ve read before,” Williams said.
The store also has a generous trade-in policy and buys used books.
“You can bring your books in that you’re not reading anymore for trade credit and get half off of our used books,” Williams said.
As the Page Turns is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
