GJ: How were you contacted to create this mural?
AS: I was contacted by the owners of Travelers Rest Makers Co. and Ty Houck, director of Greenways, Natural and Historic Resources for Greenville County Recreation District.
GJ: What is the inspiration for this piece?
AS: Simply, the owners wanted to feature poppies.
GJ: What type of paint did you use to create the mural?
AS: I used Sherwin-Williams exterior masonry paint.
GJ: How long did it take to create?
AS: It took less than two weeks.
GJ: What is your favorite part of the piece and why?
AS: I added in the slogan “Do What You Love” because I really enjoyed painting the flowers. My mother always had a massive flower garden.
GJ: When was it completed?
AS: Fall 2015.
