Fountain Inn Splash Pad Mural
GJ: How were you contacted to create this mural?
AS: I was contacted by Greenville Water through Leadership Golden Strip, a collaboration with the Chambers of Commerce from Fountain Inn, Mauldin and Simpsonville.
GJ: What is the inspiration for this piece?
AS: The inspiration was to let the public know how everyone gets their water. Among the images are the Table Rock Reservoir, Lake Keowee, water pipes and water towers. These are the places our water comes from.
GJ: What type of paint did you use to create the mural?
AS: I used Sherwin-Williams exterior masonry paint.
GJ: How long did it take to create? What was the creation process like?
AS: It took two weeks. I made an illustration and had it approved by Greenville Water.
GJ: What is your favorite part of the piece and why?
AS: I love that it’s at a splash pad, where you take your kids to play. It also gets tons of visibility.
GJ: When was it completed?
AS: Fall 2019.
It is located at 104 N. Main St. in Fountain Inn.
