GJ: How were you contacted to create this piece?
MM: D’Allesandro’s Pizza reached out to me.
GJ: What is the inspiration for this piece?
MM: The inspiration is pop art from Roy Litchtenstein as well as Greenville, pizza and a Pepsi sponsorship.
GJ: What type of paint did you use to create the mural?
MM: I used acrylic paint.
GJ: How long did it take to create?
MM: A group of Furman University students and I painted for three weeks during their Maymester class.
GJ: What is your favorite part of the piece and why?
MM: The pizza shape dripping over the Greenville bridge.
GJ: When was it completed?
MM: June 3, 2021
It is located at 17 Mohawk Drive in Greenville.
