The Greenville Health System Nurse-Family Partnership will hold a free Community Baby Shower on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the TD Convention Center. The event will feature Ruben Studdard, winner of the second season of “American Idol,” Nick Gaggero and Tp9.
Studdard is known as “The Velvet Teddy Bear.” He has recorded five albums since winning “American Idol.” Gaggero is a Latin performer who just released his first single, “Libertad.” Performer Tp9 has appeared on “America’s Got Talent” and will perform her debut single, “I Be Like.”
The Nurse-Family Partnership’s goal is to empower women during their first pregnancies and to share information about having babies, says Elena Huston, nurse manager of the partnership.
The event is open to the public at no charge, but registration is required for its limited seating. First-time moms and a guest will receive priority seating. Tickets are available at ghs.org/healthevents or by calling 1-877-GHS-INFO (447-4636).
The BlueChoice HealthPlan is a sponsor for the baby shower.
Nurse-Family Partnership pairs first-time moms with specially trained nurses who make prenatal visits and continue to check-in with women through their baby’s second birthday. The services are free and include expert advice and child development coaching.
