With more than 50 Greenville-area restaurants participating in South Carolina Lodging and Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Week from Aug. 8-18, there’s something for everyone who wants a deal on dinner.
Each restaurant will offer a special prix fixe menu with multiple options at a price lower than typical cost. Many of the menus are already available for viewing on restaurantweeksouthcarolina.com. To help you strategize your plan of culinary attack over the biannual 11-day event, we’ve grouped them into categories based on cuisine, atmosphere, and target diners, and linked to the menus that are online.
Happy dining, on the cheap!
These restaurants have either recently opened or announced new chefs since the last Restaurant Week in January, making this a perfect, cost-effective time to check out their new menus.
The HabiTap (opened in March)
Larkin’s on the River (chef Adam Hayes)
The Lazy Goat (chef Beau Owens)
Limoncello (chef Steven Musolf)
Passerelle Bistro (chef Jenifer Rogers)
Rocket Surgery (re-opened in February)
Saltwater Kitchen (opened in May)
Gluten-free and vegan options
Prix fixe menus are often not allergen- or preference-friendly. Good news for those who need accommodations, there are nearly two dozen restaurants offering gluten-free and/or vegan options as part of their special menus. Here are several options (view the entire list on the website).
The right way to do date night during restaurant week is for both of you to order different options from the menu and share, giving you up to eight dishes to try. You can’t beat the price for that amount of food. Try these restaurants for a more intimate dinner.
Sometimes the kids want to get out of the house for dinner, too. While most of the participating restaurants welcome families, these in particular offer a relaxed atmosphere and/or gaming options.
