Expect delays while traveling on Interstate 85 southbound in the early morning hours of July 25.

There will be a closure on I-385 southbound at the I-85 interchange starting at 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, and ending at 6 a.m. July 25. A detour will be provided for traffic while the roads are being paved for the Gateway Project. 

The Gateway Project intends to improve the safety of traveling on major highways in the Upstate while stimulating the local economy of the area. Improvements are taking place on Roper Mountain Road, Woodruff Road, Garlington Road, Miller Road, Chrome Drive, as well as Interstates 85 and 385. Construction for the project began in 2016 and is slated to be finish in 2020.
