Greenville Police are investigating after an elderly couple was attacked by two pit bulls.

Donald Porter, a spokesperson for the Greenville Police Department, said the attack was reported at 10:08 Thursday morning.

The two were walking their son’s dog in the area of Trescott Street and W. Washington Street when the attack happened. According to Porter, the female victim suffered serious injures to her arm, while the man suffered minor injuries to his hands. Both were transported to an area medical facility for evaluation and treatment.

The victim’s dog also sustained fatal injuries.

Both dogs, identified as pit bulls, were located by a Greenville Police Animal Control officer and are currently in quarantine at Greenville County Animal Care.

The owner of the dogs was determined to be Clifton Ray Gash, who has been charged with an animals running at large ticket, and a nuisance animal ticket.
