Congratulations to CJ Davidson, the 107.3 JAMZ Upstate Black History Maker for February 12, 2019!

CJ Davidson is humble, passionate, committed, and dedicated young entrepreneur. He diligently serves his community as a coach, teacher, mentor, trainer and role model, and as the founder and owner of Tempo Sports Academy located in Clemson, South Carolina. Tempo Sports Academy serves the Upstate of South Carolina via athletic advancement not only through training for groups or individuals, but he puts great stock in spiritual growth through mentorship.

CJ is a 2011 graduate of Daniel High School. He was a two-sport athlete (football and track & field) and graduate of Clemson University. CJ lives by the mantra “trust the process” and so, he has remained a student of his craft by continuously researching, sharing valuable resources, and investing in professional development in order to help propel young athletes in their sport.

Tempo Sports Academy was founded in 2016, CJ says, “with God’s perfect timing in mind. He had the vision to help youth understand that their tempo is different from others, that it may be fast or slow, but that it is always right on time.” CJ and the TSA Family strive to effect change in the lives of youth academically, athletically, and spiritually (they also have a homework center located in Seneca!). CJ says, “We have found our TEMPO in the mission of changing lives in the communities we serve.”

When asked what he enjoys most about working with the youth of our communities, he replies, that it’s “helping them to understand the true meaning of brotherhood and sisterhood, and the importance of sportsmanship and attitude on and off the court/field. These characteristics are transferable in so many areas of our lives.”

Over a course of 3 years, CJ has worked with numerous student-athletes, sponsored athletes to attend exposure camps, and worked with athletes to secure full and partial athletic scholarships for college. He coordinates annual basketball leagues, indoor/outdoor track and field teams, and AAU basketball teams, to name a few. CJ is truly making a difference in the black community.

Please join us in congratulating this 2019 Upstate Black History Maker!
