The one-year anniversary of the largest single-day protest in the nation’s history was commemorated across the U.S. on Saturday, Jan. 20, including in Greenville at Falls Park on the Reedy. The Women’s March anniversary rally, organized by the Upstate Coalition for Equality and other advocacy groups, drew more than 1,000 men, women, and children to the downtown park. The event was designed to harness “collective energy” around a variety of issues, including electing more women to office, eliminating homelessness, and more. Speakers included elected officials, DACA supporters, League of Women voters representatives, and homelessness activists, among others.
