Ruff Reporter: Mikey

Did you know that Animal Care is now offering FREE spay/neuter surgeries to large breed dogs and future large breed dogs (aka puppies)? It’s true! As a part of their efforts to build a NO KILL community, they’re trying to reduce the amount of large dogs entering the shelter. Last year more than 6,000 dogs came through Animal Care’s doors, most of them over 40 pounds. Believe me, there are plenty of large dogs to go around. We don’t need to make any more! If you or someone you know has a dog who is or will be over 40 pounds fully grown, tell them to call 864-467-SPAY (7729) to make an appointment. It’s up to the humans to help control the population of homeless animals.
