The appropriately titled finale of the 10-day Cliffs Wine + Food festival, the Grand Tasting, presented guests with more than 150 wines and a dozen food pairings Sept. 30 at The Cliffs at Mountain Park in Marietta. The mountain air was crisp and the sunset spectacular as guests sniffed, swirled, and sipped domestic and international wines along with craft beers, tequila, and bourbon. Chef demos featuring grilling, roasting, and flambeing were stationed throughout the venue. Food pairings ranged from Low Country Rabbit County Captain and Gochujang Stir Fried “Hickory Nut Gap” Pork Bowl to Old Bay Poached Local Shrimp and “Nature’s Peace” Herb Marinated Big Eye Tuna Steak. The evening ended with a fire blazing, overhead lights twinkling, and a caramel fountain and Heirloom Pumpkin and Cranberry Flambé served for dessert.
