Foodies rejoice: Euphoria ’17 tix go on sale

Tickets for euphoria’s 12th annual food, wine, and music festival will be available beginning April 23 at noon.

Each year this preeminent four-day festival draws foodies and wine lovers from across the state and beyond. For this year’s Sept. 21-24 Euphoria Festival, the line-up includes both familiar favorites as well as new chefs and an entirely new event, The Big Easy Bash.

Thurs. Sept. 21  Euphoria kicks off with its popular Songwriters’ Recipe and Greenville Kick-Off Party, along with the addition of two Guest Chef Dinners. Chef Scott Crawford of Crawford & Son will celebrate “North Meets South” with Chef Joe Clarke at American Grocery Restaurant while Emeril alums Heidi & Joe Trull of Grits & Groceries in Belton, S.C. will host a guest chef from New Orleans, La.

Fri. Sept. 22  Greenville’s own platinum-selling singer/songwriter Edwin McCain will perform alongside award-winning and rising chefs from all corners of the South at Taste of the South, located in Greenville’s Wyche Pavilion. New chefs this year include Brandon Carter of Farm, John May of Piedmont Restaurant, Amalia Scatena from Cannon Green and Eric Wolitzky of Atlanta Fifth Group Restaurants, among others.

Sat. Sept. 23  Feast by the Field – showcasing nationally acclaimed chefs and purveyors for intimate tastings, live cooking and beverage demonstrations, learning experiences, a beer garden and more – expands upon its cooking theater with three Live Cooking Stages and a more extensive pop-up Chef’s Table.

Saturday night, euphoria introduces its newest event – The Big Easy Bash – with N’awlins style tunes from Soda City Brass Band and sweets from New Orleans’ Chef Tariq Hanna of Sucre, at Trailblazer Park. Also, look for 2017 JBF “Best Chef Midwest” semifinalist Kevin Nashan of Sidney Street Cafe and The Peacemaker in St. Louis to serve a signature Louisiana dish alongside Sazeracs, Pimm’s Cups and French wines.

Two-star Michelin Chef Dominique Crenn of Atelier Crenn in San Francisco and one-star Michelin Chef Michael Mina of Michael Mina in San Francisco will be joining three-star Michelin Chef and Owner Curtis Duffy of Grace in Chicago for a once-in-a-lifetime multi-course dinner at The Lazy Goat on Saturday. Seven other Guest Chef Dinners will take place Saturday evening, including an Italian-themed dinner at the newly opened Jianna with host chef, Michael Kramer, along with guest chefs Chris Cosentino of Cockscomb in San Francisco and Ken Vendrinski of Trattoria Lucca in Charleston.

Sun. Sept. 24  “FIRED UP!” brunch returns this year for a smokin’ family-friendly feast. Barbecue all-stars include newcomer Southern Soul Barbeque as well as Buxton Hall Barbecue, Home Team BBQ, Lewis BBQ, Skylight Inn BBQ and Sam Jones BBQ, Southern Smoke BBQ and Greenville’s own Nard’s Backyard BBQ.
