It’s spring — and time for the city’s two outdoor music series.
Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive opens Thursday, March 16, with a performance by last year’s Gimme the Gig Contest winner, Brooks Dixon Band.
Downtown Alive runs from 5:30–8:30 p.m. Thursdays through Aug. 31, culminating for the third year with the winner of the Gimme the Gig contest for local bands. Local visual arts organizations and individual artists will be spotlighted each week through the Arts Do Downtown Alive program.
The March lineup at Downtown Alive also includes the James Radford Band on March 23 and Ashes of Old Ways on March 30.
Greenville Heritage Main Street Fridays will open on Friday, March 17, with Zataban, a blues/funk/soul band. Main Street Fridays runs weekly from 5:30–9:30 p.m. through Sept. 29. Southern classic rock band Fortunate Sons and blues and classic rock band Blues Revival round out this month’s lineup with performances on March 24 and March 31, respectively.
Both concert series are held at NOMA Square.
