Tacos n’ Tequila Fiesta announced for April at Old Cigar Warehouse

All-you-can-eat tacos and a tequila throwdown are on the menu

An announcement about a new tequila and taco event in April couldn’t come on a better day than Fat Tuesday.

Tapping into the region’s growing appreciation and love for tacos and good tequila, High Spirits Events is hosting the first Tacos n’ Tequila Fiesta in downtown Greenville presented by Lunazul 100% Agave Tequila.

This food and drink celebration will occur on Sun., April 9 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Old Cigar Warehouse, 912 S. Main St.

Local bartenders and chefs will go head-to- head to create custom cocktails and tacos in the Bartender Battle and Chef’s Taco Challenge. Local judges will vote on the best taco, the best sidekick (side dish or dessert), and the best cocktail using Lunazul 100% Agave Tequila. The event will also feature a costume contest, game zone, live music, and more.

“Greenville has a dynamic food scene, and it is one that is evolving rapidly,” said Tammy Johnson, High Spirits Events’ chief executive officer. “We believe that Tacos n’ Tequila will become one of the region’s must-go events.”

Tickets for the event go on sale on Wed., March 1, 2017 and can be purchased at tacotequilafiesta.com. VIP tickets are $55 each and include 10 tequila tasting tokens at the event and early admission at 3 p.m., while the general tickets are $40 in advance and $50 day of and include eight tequila tasting tokens and a 4 p.m. admission.

All attendees must be 21 years of age or older and have ID on them to enter the event. In addition to the drink tickets, there will be cash bars on site. Restaurants and bars that want to submit their recipes for the competition can register at tacotequilafiesta.com.
