Clemson’s thrilling 35-31 victory was barely in the books Monday night (actually Tuesday morning if you want to be technical) and Tiger fans were lined up to buy T-shirts, sweatshirts and other swag to commemorate the second national championship in school history.
Lines snaked around Academy Sports in Easley as fans waited out in the cold for their chance to buy some of the Upstate’s hottest merchandise in the wee morning hours.
Dick’s Sporting Goods opened early, too, and sold out of its initial supply. By 11:45 a.m., the Anderson store had replenished its supply and had about 45 people waiting in line to buy.
Some fans didn’t have to go far to buy their gear. Mr. Knickerbocker’s sold shirts at Dave & Buster’s.
But there’s no need to despair if you didn’t get your National Championship garb early, Tiger fans. Deliveries of National Championship gear will be pouring into the Upstate all day and for the rest of the week.
Mr. Knickerbocker will have new championship merchandise coming in for the next two weeks, said David Spearman, president of the company.
