Greenville Women Giving, a local women’s collective philanthropic organization, is looking for projects to fund that have the potential for high impact and significant positive change in the areas of arts and culture, education, environment, health and human services.
Tax-exempt nonprofit agencies located within or offering services to the citizens of Greenville County may submit applications online through Jan. 11, 2017.
Funds available for grants are generated by the annual donations of GWG members and other donor-directed funds through the Community Foundation. Grants are awarded once per year based on the cumulative voting of all current GWG members. GWG will award at least one grant in each of the five focus areas. The remainder of the applications will be ranked and grants awarded accordingly with all remaining funds. Grant sizes range from $40,000 to $100,000. In May 2016, GWG awarded more than $577,000 to 12 local nonprofit organizations.
Voting by the GWG members will take place in April, and announcement of the 2017 grant finalists will take place at the GWG Annual Celebration on May 9, 2017. Grant guidelines, application instructions and frequently asked questions are all available on the GWG website along with the on-line application.
Both new and returning grant applicants are encouraged to attend one of two GWG Grant Information Sessions to learn more about this year’s grant application process and address specific questions about their application. Sessions will be held at the Greenville Chamber of Commerce on Nov. 30 from 9-10:30 a.m. and again from noon-1:30 p.m. Registration is required; call Melanie at 864-361-1393 or email email@example.com.
