Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County and Upstate Publix associates recently came together to raise the walls on a home for the Hernandez family. Publix Super Market Charities pledged $4 million to fund construction of new homes in the Southeast, and Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County received part of the funding.

New homeowner Simonita Hernandez completed 20 hours of classes preparing her for homeownership and performed more than 200 hours working on Habitat homes. She will pay an affordable mortgage for the home.
