Get Out! Greenville, a festival celebrating all things outdoors in Greenville County, will be held Oct. 1, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at Conestee Park.
The goal of the annual event is to showcase all aspects of the outdoor community in one place. And of course, good food and music are important elements too.
“As the festival grows our single hope remains the same: inspire everyone to engage, enjoy and protect all that we have right here in our own backyard,” said Joe Lanahan, Greenville County Recreation event organizer. “It’s a hands-on, rock climbing, paddle boarding, trying-new-things kind of event, so come prepared for some new experiences and bring along your family and friends.”
Lanahan said the historic rain in October 2015 required them to cancel last year’s event, making the organizers even more enthusiastic for this year’s celebration.
New this year is the “Kids Play!” area and the Carolina Cyclocross Omnium, a loop course event. These new events complement the popular morning 50K, 25K, and 10K trail runs, as well as demo pools with kayaks and stand up paddleboards, a climbing wall, a slack-line area, a skateboard plaza and a bike ride garden.
